German Steyr Raupenschlepper Ost RSO/01 light tracked tractor, developed by the Austrian firm Steyr and originally designed for the Eastern Front but used on the other European fronts until the end of the Second World War.

The Raupenschlepper Ost (RSO) was a light tracked tractor designed by Ferdinand Porsche for the German army and initially built by Steyr in Austria; from 1944 onwards, it was also manufactured by Magirus, Deutz AG, Wanderer and Gräf & Stift. Although it was developed specifically to operate in the Soviet Union due to the lack of tarmac roads, it was used on other European fronts during the conflict. It was inspired by Soviet tractors captured during Operation Barbarossa in 1941. Although slow, it offered excellent manoeuvrability and range, and over 25,000 units were manufactured. Its first version, the RSO/01, featured a closed cabin made of rounded sheet metal.
