Self-propelled gun M12 GMC (Gun Motor Carriage) also known as King Kong for its great destructive power. It mounted a 155 mm caliber M1917, M1917A1 or M1918 M1 field artillery cannon on the chassis of a General Lee M3 tank. The origin of the gun was the 155 Grande Puissance Filloux (GPF) mle.1917 Canon developed in France during World War I. 100 units were built between 1942 and 1943. They were deployed in Western Europe in 6 armored artillery battalions to perform indirect fire support missions.
