The M3A1 Scout Car was an improved version of the M3 Scout Car, an all-terrain armored vehicle. Designed by the White Motor Company in the 1930s as a reconnaissance vehicle for U.S. Cavalry Battalions, it was lightly armored due to its open-top design and was armed with a .50-cal Browning M2 heavy machine gun and two .30-cal Browning 1919 medium machine guns. Widely used by the U.S. Army during the Tunisian campaign in North Africa, it began to be replaced by the M8 Greyhound starting in 1943. It was also used by the British Army as an armored truck in reconnaissance and artillery units, as well as an ambulance. Other smaller Allied armies also used it, such as Free French troops and Belgian units. It was part of the “Lend-Lease” agreement with the Red Army, which used it extensively as a personnel carrier, for reconnaissance units, mechanized brigades, command vehicles, and even as a tractor for anti-tank guns until the end of the war.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before placing your order, please read the following considerations regarding 3D printed scale models:
- This scale model was digitally designed by Wargame3D and is printed using SLA/DLP printers with UV-curable resin. This type of printing is done layer by layer. In some cases, these layers may be visible on certain surfaces of the printed model. Therefore, some surfaces may not be completely smooth, although this characteristic may not be noticeable once the model is painted. Please keep this characteristic of plastic resin-printed models in mind before placing your order.
- Printing is done on demand. A standard order takes about 10 business days to be printed and ready for shipment.
- Some details of the printed model (gauge bars, handles, etc.) may not be reproduced in smaller scales such as H0 and 15mm.
