The Sd.Kfz.223 Leichte Panzerspähwagen was a light armored reconnaissance armored car that incorporated medium and long wave radio equipment, and a characteristic frame antenna for long distance communications. It was armed with an MG34 machine gun mounted on the slightly delayed turret of the Sd.Kfz.221. Built on the chassis of the s.Pkw Horch 801 Kfz70, it had 4-wheel drive. About 550 units were manufactured from 1935 to 1944 year, and served in all war fronts in Europe and North Africa until the end of the conflict.
