The M26E4 Super-Pershing armed with a 90 mm barrel six meters long. In November 1944, 25 M26E3 Pershing units were converted with the T15E1 and T15E2 90mm L/73 guns, to directly compete with the King Tiger armed with the 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71. Only one of these tanks was ever tested in combat in the 3rd Armored Division. The Pershing was a 41.7 tons medium/heavy tank developed in response to the heavy tank losses suffered by the U.S. Army during the Battle of the Bulge in its fights against the German Panthers and King Tigers. The first units were delivered in January 1945, with some 200 units entering combat before the end of World War II. During the Korean War their presence was much more relevant.
