The Pz.pfw VI Tiger II Ausf.B ‘Königstiger‘ VK4503(H) was the most powerful combat tank of World War II. Until the end of the war, the Allies did not introduce anything that could effectively counteract it. The Tiger II combined a powerful 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 cannon with precise 9d Turmzielfernrohr optics that made it a deadly weapon for Allied tanks. In addition, its excellent armor -15 cm front and 8 com side with a weight of 70 tons- allowed it to resist the allied anti-tank weapons. 492 units were manufactured with two different turrets, one designed by Ferdinand Porsche and the other designed by Henschel, the latter being the most common. Some Königstiger were coated with Zimmerit, the anti-tank paste used to prevent magnetic mines from adhering to the tank’s armor.
